Key Stage 3

In year 9 students study a range of topics, aimed at broadening their knowledge of local, national and worldwide history.

This year students will study:
  • Chronology
  • The causes, key events and the end of World War One
  • Factors that led to the granting of Women's Suffrage and rights
  • The rise of Hitler and the road to WW2
  • The key events and turning points of WW2
  • The Holocaust
  • The Cold War
  • The campaign for Civil Rights in America
Throughout the course we cover issues and concepts such as democracy, dictatorships, capitalism, communism, suffrage, freedom, passive resistance, protest and the processes of the UK government
