The History Faculty Staff

Mrs Middleditch - Head of Faculty; History, Religion and Ethics, Sociology and Politics
It is surprising how quickly time passes and I can't quite believe that I have been teaching at County, for over a decade, since 2003. I have met and taught some very lovely and interesting people along the way. I have a real passion for the subjects that we teach as they are so relevant to our everyday lives, helping us to explore the world around us. One of my great interests is Richard III and one of the highlights for me each year is co-ordinating battle re-enactments! I am a big fan of crime drama, always seeking to find the truth behind the detail!!

Ms Rehahn - Second in Faculty, Lead Teacher of Politics and Critical Thinking and teacher of Sociology and History.
I have taught at 'County' since 2006. I love the challenge and intellectual stimulation I get from teaching my A level subjects, but my particular passion is for politics. I have a very strong interest in feminism and the status of women in society, as my students know and enjoy! When I am not busy challenging patriarchy, my interests include watching American TV dramas - my favourite TV programme ever is 'West Wing' - and knitting!

Mr Kemp - Teacher of History, teacher of Politics and Deputy Head
I have been teaching at County Upper Campus for the last eight years. This year I will be teaching GCSE history to Years 10 and 11 and A-level history to Year 13. I also teach A-level Government and Politics and Economics. My favourite period of history is the modern world, particularly teaching the Cold War at GCSE and revolutionary Russia to Year 13. I've been lucky during my time at County to have experienced several history trips - to Berlin, Munich, Paris and Venice. However, you can't beat Washington D.C for an insight into American politics and history.

Miss Longden - Teacher of History
I have been teaching at County since 2014 when I came here to begin my teacher training. I have always been very passionate about History, understanding what has helped to shape us, and how we can use that to guide us today. I have been lucky enough to have travelled and worked in various countries around the world, including India, Australia, New Zealand and working for four years as a football coach in Boston, USA. Football is my biggest passion, and as well as coaching the Girls' football team for the County Upper Campus.  I am also captain of my local ladies' team. I also enjoy travelling as much as possible, and strive to see how many trips and holidays I can possibly fit in over the course of each year!

Mrs Hammond - Teacher of History and Sociology
I am a Geography teacher, who has recently discovered the joys of teaching history. I am fascinated with stories which bring meaning to our existence today. In my lessons I thrive upon discussions about the past and the implications it has on today. On occasions I have been known to merge my passion for history with my musical talents, and my ukulele!

Mr Harrison - Teacher of History
I had the passion of History distilled in me whilst attending County Upper School as a pupil and am delighted to have the opportunity to now teach alongside teachers who inspired me to take the subject at university level. During my 4 years away from County I have represented Wales at a National Debating Championship Final, have spent a year living in Melbourne, Australia and have coached cricket. As a long-time season ticket holder at Carrow Road I enjoy reminding all my fellow staff members of how long Ipswich have spent in the Championship!
